Swiss Die Wochenzeitung publishes article on Nagorno Karabakh conflict

Die Wochenzeitung, one of the influential newspapers of Switzerland, has published an article on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict by journalist André Widmer. The embassy of Azerbaijan in Switzerland told APA that the article describes the current situation in Alkhanli and Ashaghi Abdurrahmali villages of Fuzuli region located on the contact line of the troops, as well as Hasangaya village of Terter region, daily living conditions of the villagers, the threats faced by residents as a result of ceasefire violation, consequences of Armenia’s aggressive policy, the complete destruction of infrastructure and plunder of the territories.

“Regional centers under the enemy control” part of the article focuses on the occupation of 62 settlements of Fuzuli region as a result of Armenia’s aggressive policy and the regional center controlled by the enemy. Touching on Azerbaijan’s villages on the contact line, the journalist mentioned 9-year-old Fariz Badalov, who was killed by the enemy in 2011 while playing in the yard of his house.

In another part “The forgotten conflict” of the article, Swiss journalist has masterly described the living and sufferings of the displaced persons. The author also highlighted the mediatory role of OSCE, which has not given any results up to now, experts’ suppositions on renewal of war and the occupation of Nagorno Karabakh and 7 adjacent regions.
