Turkey’s Kars province starts signature campaign for recognition of Khojaly genocide by parliament

A signature-collecting campaign has been started in Kars province of Turkey for recognition of Khojaly genocide at the Turkish parliament.

A number of Kars residents joined the campaign organized by the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Ulku Ojaglari Birliyi (Union of Idealist Organizations) APA reports quoting Kafkas news agency.

Chairman of Kars organization of the Union of Idealist Organizations Onur Ersancmis called on the government to annul the protocols signed with Armenians.

“Despite that international media and human rights organizations documented the human tragedy in Khojaly, today the world’s decision-makers don’t intend to recognize this horrible crime and are implementing double standards against the Muslim Turks”, said the organization leader.

Ersancmis sent a message to Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdogan: “Let all over the world and AKP government to know that the borders can not be opened and relations with Armenians can not be normalized without withdrawal of Armenian forces from the occupied Azerbaijani lands and withdrawal of Armenian territorial and genocide claims against Turkey. Even the signing of protocol couldn’t prevent “genocide” falsehood at the US House of Representatives. We will not forget the Nagorno Karabakh problem and Khojaly massacre and will not let to anyone to forget it because all of us are Muslims and Turks like friendly Azerbaijani people. Let all over the world to know that Nagorno Karabakh is our problem, Khojaly genocide is our problem and our claims”.
