“KARABAKH” AND THE DISORGANIZED MARKET: THE SIAM TWINS
At the meeting held in Sumgait State musical-dramatic theatre named after Huseyn Arablinski, deputies of Milli Majlis, leadership of the city execution committee, scientists, public men, representatives of non-governmental organizations and others took part.
There was hanged a playbill “Iravan khanate: history, folklore and traditions” from the scene. These photo stands demonstrated historical materials, photos of famous faces of Iravan khanate.
The meeting started with the minutes of silence for memory of Azerbaijanis who were victims of genocide committed by Armenians, also the martyrs of the Armenian-Azerbaijani war. There was sounded the hymn of Azerbaijan. There were hanged the flags of Azerbaijan and Iravan khanate in the hall.
Then there was demonstrated a video-film with historical cadres which openly showed the cruelty, severity and wildness of Armenians against Muslims, especially Azerbaijanis and the Turkish in different times: “During 1918-1920 all Muslim villages of Iravan province were destroyed and burnt, 22 thousands Azerbaijanis were killed. 26 villages were annihilated and 10 thousands Azerbaijanis were killed in Zangazur region”, – said at the text of the film.
Welcoming participants and guests of the meeting, the chairman of Iravan department of IDCA said that when we talk about Iravan khanate, we think of Zangazur, Daralayaz, Garagonlu, generally the whole area of West Azerbaijan and this is the history and it is impossible to forget it. Chairman of the International center of diaspora Ismail Agayev noted that there are held Days of Iravan khanate with initiative of IDCA every year. The organization lead by them regularly holds different meetings also in the abroad from Azerbaijan. “The center of diasporas calls Azerbaijani countrymen and the community of the whole world to hold a company of protesting against the aggressive politics of Armenia and double-sided politics pursued by the international organizations, to show the reality about Karabakh conflict and genocide which was committed by Armenian armed groups against Azerbaijanis to the world community”, – Agayev said, expressing the wish of all members of his organization.
Deputies of Milli Majlis Musa Urud (Guliyev), Musa Gasimli, Sabir Rustamkhanli, professor Vagif Arzumanli, chairman of national forum PNO Rauf Zeyni and others, making speech at the gathering, talked about plenty of facts about historical suffer of peaceful Azerbaijani population from the Armenian dashnaks. There was noted that Armenian bandit groups, becoming impudent from non-punishment after massacre of Muslim population in 1905, continued committing genocide of innocent people after 13-15 years, in 1918-1920. The traditional Armenian politics of driving out Azerbaijani population from their native lands continued in 1948-1953. The participants especially underlined the meaning of the Order about Day of Genocide of Azerbaijani nation signed by the president of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev in 1996. Thanks to this document, information about bloody acts of Armenians was open for the international community.
The participants of the meeting expressed their beliefs for that Azerbaijani population which was driven out their native lands in Nagorno-Karabakh as in Armenia, would absolutely return to their historical places. The content of all speeches made in the meeting was one: “We will absolutely return to our historical lands. Our lands wait us where our ancestors were buried in”.
