Eternal genocide

– purposeful Armenian politics of extermination of Azerbaijanis

History of genocide of Azerbaijanis committed by Armenians has a deep source over 95 years – in the beginnings of XX century. This purposely Armenian politics of torturing Azerbaijanis is continued also in the present time. During a period less than a century, Armenians killed ten thousands of Azerbaijanis.

At the day of Novruz holiday – on 21 March, 1918 according to old calendar (according to modern calendar – 31 March) Armenian armed forces under leadership of Stepan Shaumyan killed 50000 habitants of Azerbaijan in a short time, mainly the Muslim population – Azerbaijanis, lazgis, also Jews and representatives of other nationalities. This massacre of innocent nation can be called as a real genocide, because the mass carnage was done in plan and purposely, with the aim of annihilation of major part of population of the neighbor republic and appropriation of its lands for creating there so called “Great Armenia”. During realization of this horrible crime against the humanity in Baku and other regions of Azerbaijan – in Karabakh, Shamakhi, Guba, also in Zangazur, Erivan provinces Armenians applied inhuman methods of killing people: people were buried alive, killed being hardly tortured, they were closed in mosques and burnt. In the yard of “Taza Pir” mosque in Baku Armenian bandits collected dead bodies and made a great fire.

During a short time of war provoked by Armenians, more than 16000 people of local population died.

Attacks of Armenian bandit groups didn’t stop even after organization of soviet regime in Azerbaijan in 1920. During ten years – from 1918 to 1928 Armenian groups continued committing attacks on peaceful population and realized ethnic cleaning for the above-mentioned aim.

Hiding under mask of communists, a real dashnak S. Shaumyan was the main organizer of mass torture of peaceful population as he had power in Baku and other provinces: after February revolution in 1917 he was appointed to post of chief of Baku soviet, in December of the same year as the extraordinary commissar over works in Caucasus, and from April of 1918 as the chief of Baku Soviet of National Commissars and commissar for external affairs. In the end of war Shaumyan, being responsible for outputting Russian and Armenian military groups from Turkish and Balkan fronts, sent several thousand completely armed Armenians to Baku, Ganja, Erivan and other cities of Azerbaijan. Moving around territory of the republic, well-armed and taught Armenian groups organized real terror and mass torture of Azerbaijan, Turkish and Muslim population.

Due to approximate statistics, only in 1918-1920 Armenian nationalists in Northern and Southern Azerbaijan killed a few hundred thousand people. According to present Azerbaijani and Russian archives, in 1918 only in the North of Azerbaijan habitants of 162 habituated points were tortured in Guba, Davachi and Khachmaz, also 27 villages were annihilated completely.

On 31 March 1918 at 22 o’clock in Baku Russian (6000 people) and Armenian (7000 people) soldiers started attacking at non-armed Azerbaijan quarters. Armenian-Bolshevik armed unity acted with special brutality, didn’t pity and wildly killed even children, women and aged people.

At the next day – in the morning on 1 April, there was given an order by administration of Baku revolutionary committee to Bolshevik-dashnak armed groups about application of heavy artillery against local population. In different places of the city there were organized posts with gunners intended for slaughter of the population. The central administration of Bolshevik band was located in the house of the commissar Sergey Martikyan and was led by N. Ananchenko. Members of the band killed all – aged people, women, children who run in direction to the port, also those who wanted exit Ichari Shahar, tower of old Baku. At the crossing of Nikolayev and Bazar streets there were put lines of gunners which also included soldiers from “Red Army” as Mikoyan, Artak, Akopov, Manucharov, Karamov, Aghamirov who were ordered to fire at “musavatians” from all sides, the local Muslim-Turkish population. At the operation “Ichari Shahar” soldiers from “Red Army” also took active participation as Ananchenko, and Shaumyan, Ovchiyan, Galstyan, Sarkis, Kaber-Kori, Artak, Akopov, Manucharov and other dashnaks. There were happened fierce fights which as the result more than three thousand people died.

In one word, S. Shaumyan and dashnak group led by him, leaning on Lenin, the newly-created soviet regime and using the navy, aviation, artillery, well-armed Armenian armed groups, annihilated the population of Baku and other regions of the republic with special brutality. Soldiers of “Red Army” – terrorists Ovchinyan, Galstyan, Artak, Akopov, Manucharov, Armenians called as “commanders” T. Amiryan, S. Lalayev, Amazasp and others were especially “distinguished”. It is enough to mention that 72 villages were destroyed and nearly 8 thousand people were killed by the groups of Bolsheviks and dashnaks of Baksovet. Just pay attention to words of Shaumyan said at the report at assembly of Soviet of National Commissars: “…after how the Soviet army invades Yevlakh bridge and locates in defensive line along Kur river, we’ll have to lead them to Elizavetpol (Ganja) as soon as we can that Armenians could start their uprising there and then in other places”. It is clear that under the phrase “that Armenians could start their uprising” the dashnak despot meant the activities of Armenians over annihilation of Azerbaijani population.

It should be mentioned that genocide of Azerbaijanis was committed not only in Baku, but also the whole country – in Karabakh, Shamakhi, Guba, Khachmaz, Lankaran, Hajigabul, Salyan and other regions of Azerbaijan, also in Armenia. Dashnak Lalayev burnt the mosque in Shamakhi where aged people, women, children were hiding from Armenian thugs and anyone who tried to run out the mosque was shot. This is what “Our voice” – the newspaper of Baku Mensheviks wrote describing the situation in the city after March fights: “There are dead bodies everywhere – frozen, mutilated, burnt bodies where they were packed compactly in some places and were put one by one as dead bodies of men, women and children in some places… The image of Tazapir mosque is just terrible. The mosque got harm from fires. Insult of a saint place harms everyone, dead bodies disturb them”. The Armenian historian A. A. Lalayan, talking about bloody events committed by Armenians, wrote: “…in 1918-1920 nearly 60 thousand Azerbaijanis were killed in Armenia. 3257 men, 2226 children were killed only in Zangazur province; 1060 men, 794 women, 475 children were wounded… 3 thousand Azerbaijanis were killed in Guba on 30 March, 1918”.

Great majority of facts about mass torture of Azerbaijani population by Armenians was collected in 1918 in 35 bindings by Extraordinary Investigative Commission which was created after coming of Azerbaijani Democratic Party to the head of government.

Sometimes similar facts were affirmed even by Armenian leadership. So, in August of 1919 the government of Armenia had to recognize commitment of several crimes under pressure of Western countries. Armenia officially recognized the fact that during 1918 as the result of criminal activity of leaders of bandit formations Andranik, Manukyan, Saakyan, Kachaznuni in Caucasus 400 thousand Azerbaijanis, 120 thousand Georgians, 15 thousand Kurds and 22 thousand lazgis were killed and took responsibility about punishing the guilty persons in those crimes, but nobody was punished in real.

Not being satisfied of invaded lands of Azerbaijan, Armenian government insisted to other territories in 1918-1920 as Karabakh, Nakhchivan, Zangazur and time by time organized armed robbery attacks to those territories. Nearly in the middle of 1918 the armed groups of Armenians under leadership of Andranik Ozanyan, Dramast Kanayan (Dro), Garegin Njde, entering to Karabakh, Zangazur, Nakhchivan committed mass carnages. In March, 1918 Armenian army in amount of 10 thousand soldiers attacked Dyushun, Vanand, Khanag, Agri and other villages of Nakhchivan. After a short period they attacked Ordubad. During May-August of 1918 the bandit groups of Armenia could invade Sisiyan region and approach Shusha. Chief of Zangazur province informed in his report sent in September, 1918 to Azerbaijani government, that bandit groups of Andranik, attacking villages often, were killing local population. There are documental facts about Djomertli genocide, genocide of mountain Jews living in Azerbaijan in 1918-1920 which as the result approximately 3 thousand Jews were killed. Guba genocide has already been known to the world which was proved also by the bones found as the result of excavation and there was created a museum at that place.

In these conditions Azerbaijani leadership adopted decision on 29 January, 1919 about creation of Karabakh general-governor. Center of the governor was Shusha city, and Shusha, Javanshir, Jabrayil and Zangazur provinces were included in the structure, and general-governor was Khosrov bey Sultanov. Regular attacks and terroristic acts of Armenians were stopped as the result of activity of Khosrov bey Sultanov.

Planned Armenian company of genocide of Azerbaijanis was restored in the end of eighties when the soviet regime was falling.

In November, 1988 when there were started anti-Azerbaijani processes in Armenia including mass driving out Azerbaijanis from that country, 21 Azerbaijanis were killed whose 15 were burnt lively in Gugar region. In 1988 in Western Azerbaijan 261 Azerbaijani villages and habituated points were emptied. Due to exiting information, during the genocide committed in Western Azerbaijan (present Armenia) in 1988-1989, Armenians killed 266 Azerbaijanis, and more than 400 people were wounded. But this isn’t the full list of Azerbaijanis who were killed and wounded by Armenians at those years.

January events in 1990 in Baku and other regions of Azerbaijan provoked by Armenians can be considered as the continuation of Armenian politics of genocide of Azerbaijanis and at the conclusion 133 persons were killed, 744 were wounded, 841 were arrested illegally and 5 were missing.

In the continuation of the non-declared war of Armenia against Azerbaijan habitants of Agdaban village, Malibayli and Gushchular villages of Shusha region, Meshali village of Khojali region and others were driven out of their homes by Armenian side.

The most terrible and unbelievable for character and number of suffered people was Khojali genocide committed by Armenian armed forces with participation of 366th Russian motto-riffle regiment at night from 25 to 26 February in 1992 against habitants of the same city. As the result of barbaric operation Khojali city was deleted out of the Earth, 613 persons (full number of the dead people as the result of Khojali genocide is over 1000), – 63 children, 106 women, 70 aged persons and old women, 8 families were completely annihilated, 25 children lost both their parents, 130 children lost one of parents. 76 of 487 persons getting wounded were children. 1275 Khojalians were taken as captives, 150 were missing.

According to decree of the President of Azerbaijan of 26 March, 1998, 31 March was declared the day of genocide of Azerbaijanis which is celebrated every year not only in the republic, but also many countries of the world.

Armenian army in paw of corruption

It is largely written in mass media about the catastrophically position of Armenian army in different fields. The mentioned topic was also highlighted in our newspaper in several times. But continuation of increasing of the negative process causes also the continuation of publications in press over this topic.

The main contemporary details of negative moments in Armenian army are corruption and robbery. The fact of existence of corruption in Armenian army is affirmed even by some international structures.

So, the underlined moment found its expression at the recent yearly report prepared by The International Institute for Strategic Studies located in London. At the document it is mentioned that the military expenses of Armenia is 400 million dollar in a year (in 2011 Armenia spent 396 million, and in 2012 394 million dollars for military needs), and it is equal to 4% of Gross Domestic Product. Besides, as it is mentioned at the document of the institute, “although the military budget of Armenia in 2013 is 170 billion drams, also on the contrary of serious means spent by Armenia for restoration and modernization of existing weapons, Military Forces of Armenia is far from the needed level of the modern techniques yet. This moment is usually explained by the corruption, also the low effectiveness of control over finances of Ministry of Defense of Armenia”.

Fact of expansion of corruption and robbery in Armenian army is one of the permanent topics of mass media of Armenia. For example, according to the recent message of the agency Armenia Today, the substitutive commander, chief of a military unit, Colonel Yuriy Mkrtchyan was condemned for corruption in large amount committed by using his authorities of post.

Due to information by the agency “Pastinfo”, the colonel is condemned for appropriation of 3000 dollar by way of roguishness. The investigation bodies informed that Y. Mkrtchyan promised Evelin Sarkisyan – habitant of Saralandj village of Armenia to appoint her son in concrete military unit for military education instead of the underlined sum, and after 5 months to let him continue serving at the same unit where Mkrtchyan is chief.

Fact of expansion of corruption is also affirmed by the president of Armenia Serj Sarkisyan, the minister for defense Seyran Oganyan. Making a speech at the extraordinary congress of Republic party of Armenia, Serj said: “There won’t be a place for corruption in Military Forces”, which means that there is corruption at present. But the minister, touching the topic, informed that as if “the criminal practice of military servers is nearly prevented at all in “profitable places””. Due to his words, “fights against corruption in army is held not only by means of strictly punishment of the guilty servers for revealed crimes, but also the prophylactic measures, explanatory works, elastic mechanisms of control”. But the below-mentioned words of Oganyan again demonstrate the high level of corruption in Military Forces of Armenia: “329 officers were sent to reserve or transformed to other appointments in 2012. There were many high-ranked officers including seven generals and 35 colonels among them”. According to information by Armenian mass media, the sum of delaying the military serving or unfitness is 20-25 thousand dollar. Associates of investigation body over military crimes in general post of prosecutor of the country gave many investigative questions to members of “Dashnaksutyun” party over the underlined moment. It is mentioned at these documents that there is concrete costs in every city or region about calls to military service and the people who pays the mentioned sum can serve in defined booked places.

If we also add other negative facts existing in army of Armenia, then the image of the tragic situation in Military Forces of the country will be absolutely clear.

What didn’t suit A.Herkel in E.Suleymanov’s speech?

Or about a frank pro-armenian head of the international organization

As it is already known, the mass media had disseminated the information about the incident within the framework of the meeting of the PACE Monitoring Committee of March 20, 2013 between the chairman and the member of the Azerbaijani delegation in PACE and MC.

As a result of the fact that the chairman of the meeting Andres Herkel for no reason repeatedly interrupted the speech of the member of Azerbaijani parliament, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation in the PA Evronest Elkhan Suleymanov suspended last speech and left the meeting room as a token of protest.

What was the real cause of the incident?

Concerning the so-called reasons, A.Herkel told the news agency Turan, that he “interrupted Suleymanov’s speech not due to the content of his speech, but due to necessity to observe the regulations” and tried to justify his behavior various pretexts concerning regulations.

But, it appears, the true content of the incident completely from mister chairman published statement of self-protective character.

E.Suleymanov made the statement concerning MC PACE occurred at meeting. Elkhan Suleymanov stated that Mr. Herkel’s words regarding the interruption of his speech were beyond reality. Thus, he told that when Mr. Herkel first interrupted him at a minute and 40 seconds of his speech and the second time at 2 minutes of his speech.

Elkhan Suleymanov noted the significance and delicateness of clarifying the time-study of his speech. He underlined that the text of his speech in the Monitoring Committee had been disseminated in the mass media a few days before. Therefore, every reader may easily determine the time-study of the interruption of his speech.

The Azerbaijani MP also stressed that he had e-mailed the text of his speech of 17th March to Mr. Herkel and the Committee Secretariat. Thus, the Committee members also received that text. Subsequently, Elkhan Suleymanov stated that one can easily determine the time-study of the interruption of the speech and the objectivity of the information given by Mr. Herkel to the press.

E,Suleymanov said that in fact, his speech did not suit present at the meeting of the Armenian and their supporters, including A.Herkel, openly demonstrated his pro-armenian affection.

They repeatedly tried to interrupt the statement of Suleymanov, voiced their seats remarks and demanded to stop the speech. He protested the violation of rules by the end of his speech, interrupted him and left the meeting room as a token of protest.

MP said that in his speech he expressed his protest against the evaluation took place in February of this year’s presidential elections in Armenia in the light of democracy, human rights, and rule of law and continued: “I don’t want to talk about the facts that one of the candidates was shot and wounded within the election campaign or that huge part of Armenian society is not willing to recognize the returns of the elections as a protest to serious legal violations. I would like to draw your attention to more serious criminal facts with heavy results: Armenia has conducted an armed aggression against Azerbaijan for 25 years and keeps 20% of Azerbaijani territories under occupation so far. Armenia carried out ethnic cleansing policy in the occupied territories, massively and grossly violated the rights of about one million Azerbaijanis, who consequently became refugees and internally displaced peoples. The aggravating point is that Serj Sargisyan, commander of the armed Armenian groups which committed genocide crimes against civilians in Khojaly town of Azerbaijan on 26th February of 1992, has been elected President of Armenia. English journalist Thomas de Waal, senior associate of the Washington DC-based Carnegie Endowment for International Peace writes in his book “Black Garden: Armenia and Azerbaijan through Peace and War” that when he asked Armenian Military Commander Serzh Sargsyan to talk about the occupation of Khojaly, he told: “Before Khojaly, the Azerbaijanis thought that they were joking with us, they thought that the Armenians were people who could not raise their hand against the civilian population. We were able to break that stereotype”. Apparently, Serzh Sargsyan acknowledges that he is one of the authors and participants of bloody ethnic crimes against civilians in Khojaly.

The most incomprehensible is that by evaluating elections and its results in the light of democracy, human rights and the rule of law, the international community neglects just like that the fact of the armed aggression by Armenia against Azerbaijan, the occupation of 20% of its lands for 25 years, all war crimes and crimes against humanity, and even applauds the election of a war criminal as a head of state. The international community, therefore, casts serious doubt on all its fundamental standards such as democratic values, respect to human rights and rule of law, as envisaged in its documents. This proves the corrosion of the system of democratic values and their assessment.

Regretfully, the international community turns a blind eye to the massive and gross violations of human rights of about 1 million Azerbaijani citizens by Armenia, the presence of refugees and internally displaced people for more than 20 years, and the failure to ensure their basic rights to return to their homelands and live safely.

We voice our protest to the evaluation of elections in an aggressor state in the light of democracy and the appreciation and considering legitimate of the election of the person, who committed grave crimes against humanity, as a president by democratic community and request to discuss this issue in Spring Plenary Session of PACE”.

This severe and critical content of speech of the Azerbaijani MP is visible and didn’t suit mister A.Herkel. After all not for nothing speak: the truth – is bitter.

Armenia – a country without a future

Despite the constant help of the Armenian diaspora, the certain pro-Armenian adjusted countries of the world, on the own fault Armenia and the Armenian people appeared in unknown hitherto difficult political and economic situation.

It is promoted most of all by blockade to which Armenia got as a result of the aggressive policy, unfair, aggression war against the neighboring Azerbaijan and in which at the root of chronic Armenian desire to take control of territories of this country lies. In turn, the similar condition together with fall of a standard of living of ordinary citizens of the country, also serves as the reason of emigration of the population.

The fact of immigration of citizens of Armenia really takes place, besides the number decreasing of this country increases almost daily. According to Armenian sources (armenianreport.com; newsinfo.am; armtown.com; lragir.am), for the first 7 months 2012 through the airport Zvartnots arrived to Armenia 432117, 472955 people decreased, that is the number decreased on 40788 exceeds number of the arrived. For the same period of 2011 to Armenia arrived through the airport Zvartnots 405384, and departed from the country 446961 persons, in other words, left on 41577 people more than arrived. For this period of 2012 Armenia through Zvartnots left on 25994 people more than 2011. Through Gyumri Shirak Airport decreased 22567, arrived 16454 people that is, left 6113 people more. According to the report of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), by number of the applications submitted for the purpose of receiving a shelter in other countries, Armenia takes the 22nd place in the world (4 450 applications).

According to the website of the Armenian 7or.am, the other day, former chairman of the Central Bank, Economist Bagrat Asatryan, speaking about the difficult situation in the country, told reporters: “The EU’s decision to provide Armenia one million euros to prevent immigration will not solve the problem in a qualitative way. We are facing a very serious problem – emigration of the population, which is not even immigration, but rather escape. Every year, the number of persons entering the working age decreases; there is a significant shift in the composition of the population. Every fifth woman in today’s generation will not be a mother due to the ratio of men and women. In the following years, the number of deaths will exceed the number of births. It is necessary to change the system, otherwise Armenia will become a country without a future”.

Results of poll which has been carried out by the Union of Europe, revealed: 75% of the population of Armenia arrive at idea that situation in the country is caused by an incorrect course of the management, they assume that consequences will be still the worst. “A similar course we are waited by worse days”; “Look back around. Whether you see any changes for last 10 years?”; “With pleasure would go to Europe”; “While we use houses and the property which has remained from Soviet period. We are isolated from the world”; “Armenia never will improve”, – simple citizens of Armenia is so argue. The difficult situation in the country affected and number of tourists from the neighboring Iran: if in March of last year 15 thousand Iranians visited here, this March this figure equaled 5500. Before the Armenian drivers brought Iranians to the capital for 200 dollars, and now it is possible to carry out this trip for only $ 100-120. The Iranians earlier renting apartments in Yerevan for 150 dollars, now for this sum already can rent two apartments.

Yes, it seems, becoming a reality B.Asatryan words “Armenia will become a country without a future” won’t have to wait long…
