Ambassador: “Even if the entire world recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh as Armenian territory, Iran will recognize it as Azerbaijani territory”
Ambassador of the Iran Islam Republic in Azerbaijan, Nasir Hamidi Zare, held a press conference on June 19 connected with the 60th anniversary of establishment of Israel state. The Ambassador said the Palestine territories had been occupied 60 years ago and illegal Israeli state was proclaimed there. H.Zare expressed his regret that this day is celebrated as a holiday in some states. “As for me, Azerbaijani nation shares the same grief with Iran and Palestine and all three countries refuse to accept the injustice coming from great powers. Naturally, this injustice is arisen from double standards practiced by some states. Those who want to liberate their lands from occupation are declared terrorists. If Azerbaijani nation attempts to liberate its occupied territories now, they would be called terrorists as well”. The Ambassador emphasized Iranian, Azerbaijani and Palestinian nations show resistance to aggressors. H.Zare reminded that Iranian nation had liberated its territories after 8 years of struggle. “If God pleases, Azerbaijani nation will liberate its lands from occupation as well”. The diplomat stated Iran supports Azerbaijan’s position in the solution to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and recognizes its territorial integrity. “Even if the entire world recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh as Armenian territory, Iran will recognize it as Azerbaijani territory”, he stated.
