Armenians are trying to use captivity in Azerbaijan for gaining asylum abroad

The number of Armenians leaving for third country is greater than Azerbaijanis.

They claim to choose easier way to gain asylum abroad using their captivity, said secretary of the State Commission for Captives, Missing and Hostages Shahin Sailov, APA reports.

He said international organizations also know about that. “I consider that the number of people using this way will be reduced in future because the process is going very hardly. May be the process will stop and not to move”.

Sailov said 18-20 people returned from captivity on both sides over the past year. Two Azerbaijanis are in captivity in Armenia and five Armenians in Azerbaijan now.
