Museum to be established in mass grave of Guba

Museum to be established in mass grave of Guba The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan will make a decision to establish a museum in mass grave of Guba, Deputy director to the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Najaf Museyibli told APA. According to him, the Cabinet asked the Institute to submit its proposals concerning creation of a museum. Museyibov, saying that they had already sent proposals to the Cabinet of Ministers, emphasized the necessity of taking into account these proposals while making the final decision. “We have made four project proposals on the establishment of the Guba museum. Firstly, an Internet-page, including the information about the Guba mass graveyard, should be designed to cover the history of the genocide committed by Armenians; secondly, the staff of the Institute should be involved in the establishment of a memorial complex; third, a documentary film should be shot about the history of the genocide based on the materials obtained from the Guba mass graveyard, and the fourth, urgent measures should be taken to prevent the destruction and decomposition of the bones discovered in the Guba mass graveyard”.

Museyibli stated that the fourth proposal should be implemented immediately, because the bones discovered in the mass grave were subjected to decomposition under the atmosphere influence. “This should be stopped. There are special substances that can prevent bones from decomposition, and these substances should be used”.

It should be reminded that since the Guba graveyard has been found, the Institute submitted 13 proposals on protecting the graveyard. Many of them have already been implemented.
