APA’s Europe correspondent reports that though the Congress showed only Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova as the countries suffering separatists, today, the bureau has passed a decision on inclusion of Azerbaijan in this document too.
New president of the Congress Jean-Claude Frécon noted that Azerbaijani MIniter of Justice Fikrat Mammadov has also been invited to the discussions: “Azerbaijan has Nagorno Karabakh problem and if there is such problem, we would not like to close the doors of these discussions for Azerbaijan. Therefore, we invited Azerbaijani Minister to these discussions”.
Speaking about separatism inclinations, Frécon stressed that any breakup and separatism is not a positive for Europe: “This is position of both Congress and the Council of Europe”.
F. Mammadov had to make speech at only tomorrow’s plenary meeting of the Congress within the chairmanship of Azerbaijan to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. However, after today’s decision, F. Mammadov is also expected to attend the listening to be held on October 16. The listening will also be attended by Vyacheslav Nehoda, First Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Building, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, Valeriu Chiveri, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Oleksii Reznikov, Deputy Mayor and Secretary of Kyiv City Council and Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Tengiz Shergelashvili.
