Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office Sheikh-Ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh gave an Iftar dinner in his residence on August 28 on the occasion of Holy Ramadan.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev also attended the Iftar dinner, APA reports. Addressing the ceremony, the head of state called Iftar as a good tradition and clear example of the unity of society and unity of the government and religion for common goals.
The president spoke about the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and said the progress reached in the negotiation process was a result of purposeful policy. “Our efforts are giving first results in the negotiation process. Our unchangeable position is that this problem could be solved only within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The people could live in Nagorno Karabakh within the status of autonomy and within the united Azerbaijani state. These principles are basic today and the negotiations are conducted on the basis of these principles and any agreement could be reached only on the basis of these principles. We told all countries that the problem could be solved phase-by-phase. All occupied regions will be liberated successively and our compatriots will return to those regions. The infrastructure will be restored there and after that the legal status of Nagorno Karabakh will be determined in the next phase. We are always stating that Nagorno Karabakh has to get its status, but we don’t see this status out of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan will never agree with that”.
