The PACE President stated that the Organization may undertake definite steps directed to the conflict solution and emphasized the necessity of coming to an agreement.
Luis Maria de Puig, drawing attention to the fact that “frozen conflicts” in the territories of the CE member-states were included into the PACE Sub-Committee mandate on conflicts, including the solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, stated that they make efforts to form confidence between the parties.
It should be reminded that chair to the Sub-Committee, British MP, Lord Russell Johnston died in summer 2008. A new leader is expected to be appointed to this job within the framework of the ongoing session.
