Some Azerbaijani socio-political organizations demand to suspend negotiations on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict


Some Azerbaijani socio-political organizations demand to interrupt talks ongoing between Azerbaijan and Armenia over peaceful solution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“Pro-Armenian position of the OSCE Minsk Group’s co-chairs, mediating between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and international organization’s pressure on Azerbaijan, impede negotiations”, is said in the declaration adopted after the meeting of socio-political organizations held June 20 via mediation of the Karabakh Liberation Organization.
Reference of Trend News: Armenia occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory – Nagorno-Karabakh and seven surrounding districts. The occupation started in 1988. Until December 1991, Azerbaijan lost control over Nagorno-Karabakh except for Shusha and Khojaly. But in 1992-93, Shusha, Khojaly and seven surrounding districts of Nagorno-Karabakh were occupied too. In 1994, the parties signed the ceasefire agreement and hold peace talks till today.
The co-chairs to the OSCE Minsk Group – Russia, France, and the USA, are mediating for peaceful solution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Declaration says the negotiations, being held via mediation of the OSCE Minsk group, are directed to make Azerbaijan sign a compromising peace. Akif Nagi, chairman to the Karabakh Liberation Organization considers the period of negotiations should be declared and after this period expires, Azerbaijan must start to liberate its territory by a military way.
