The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be settled peacefully, on the basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity, said Novruz Mammadov, Head of the International Relations Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan.
Commenting on visits by a group of the Azerbaijani intellectuals to the Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia, Mammadov noted “it is necessary, if we want to co-exist with Armenians for long centuries”.
“It is impossible to live as enemies in the consistent neighborhood. One day, the conflict must be settled. History has seen such periods. So, it is not bad to visit Nagorno-Karabakh to witness the ongoing processes there and to get acquainted with their opinions.”
Mammadov underlined “such steps must be taken at the time when constructive talks are underway, and they can continue”.
