UNO World Food Program to continue cooperation with Azerbaijan
Only humanitarian aid program of the UNO World Food Program has stopped in Azerbaijan, but the cooperation between the organization and Azerbaijan will be continued. The organization’s regional director made such a proposal speaking at the annual session held at the organization’s headquarters in Rome. The regional director, highly appreciating Azerbaijani government’s activity in redressing the needs of refugees and IDPs, proposed not to stop the activity of the Program’s office in Azerbaijan. This issue is being discussed at the headquarters at present.

Ali Hasanov, deputy Prime Minister, chairman of the State Committee on Work with Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons in Azerbaijan, highly estimating the activity of the organization and its Baku office, stated they had worked out a proposal which would be presented to the head of state. The Azerbaijani President approaches keenly such kind of issues.
Azerbaijan, establishing transparent and independent conditions for the activity of international humanitarian organizations, attaches special importance to one of the global problems which concerns the whole world – food security. A special program, aimed to assure food security in the country, is being prepared by order of President, Ilham Aliyev. The biggest organization in the field of food assistance – the UNO World Food Program highly evaluates Azerbaijan’s activity in this line.
