Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu completed the meetings with leaders of political parties within the framework of the six-week internal political discussions concerning the protocols initialed with Armenia, APA reports quoting Turkish news agencies.
Ahmet Davutoglu last met with former speaker of Turkish parliament Husamettin Cindoruk.
Cindoruk told journalists after the meeting that actually Turkey-Armenia relations were trilateral, not bilateral, Azerbaijan’s participation was necessary in the process.
“Azerbaijan is our brother, friend, ally. We are united by the similar roots. We should have delicate approach to the relations with Azerbaijan. But at present this delicacy is not demonstrated fully. It is impossible to forget the torments of Azerbaijani people. There are one million refugees. I witnessed how they live and the graves of the martyrs. We cannot forget Azerbaijani martyrs,” he said.
Cindoruk said Azerbaijan should not be blamed for the conflict with Armenia.
“Armenia attacked. We do not want the enmity to last for centuries. But agreements with Armenia may damage the friendship between Azerbaijan and Turkey especially established by Demirel and Heydar Aliyev,” he said.
Husamettin Cindoruk considers that Turkish government should not hurry in establishing relations with Armenia and should take all the opinions into account. He thinks that Armenia should hurry.
“Because the reopening of the borders will favor Armenia,” he said.
