598 foreigners deported from Azerbaijan this year

598 foreigners have been reported from Azerbaijan this year, department chief of Interior Ministry’s Office for Combating Illegal Migration Yashar Agayev said.

Yashar Agayev said 329 citizens of Pakistan, 80 citizens of China, 20 of Afghanistan, 26 of Iran, 21 of Turkmenistan, 43 of Turkey, 20 of Georgia, 20 of Bangladesh had been deported from Azerbaijan. Four or fewer citizens from other countries were deported from the country.

“318 of them were detained by the appropriate department of the Interior Ministry, 135 by the State Migration Service, 13 by the National Security Ministry,” he said.

In most cases the foreigners violated their visa, stay period, lived not in the registered place, had no individual permission.

The ministry’s representative said the number of the deported foreigners reduced compared with the previous years.

970 people were deported from Azerbaijan in 2008.

Yashar Agayev also gave information about the persons deported from foreign countries. He said there were deportations mainly from Sweden, Norway, US, the Netherlands and Germany.
“There are few of them. Azerbaijanis were mainly deported, as they did not obey the laws of these countries on migration, did not get necessary permission, visa and had problems concerning registration,” he said.
