Azerbaijan will start producing universal mortars, sources in the Defense Industry Ministry told APA.
According to the sources, Azerbaijan is now producing small-caliber and large-caliber mortars, in a few years universal mortars, 122 caliber and larger mortars will be produced.
Universal mortars differ from ordinary mortars as this weapon can fire both from cumulative shells and mortars.
Russian-made 120mm caliber 2B16 NONA-K is now used in the Azerbaijani Army. It is used against tanks, armored vehicles and other surface targets.
