“If OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries had spent their energy on the release of the occupied Azerbaijani territories rather than on the reopening of Turkey-Armenia borders, the situation would have been different. Their main task is to end this occupation. If you want peace in the Caucasus, end Armenian invasion,” leader of Republican People’s Party (CHP) Deniz Baykal said at the meeting of the parliamentary faction of his party, APA reports.
He said AKP should not lay the responsibility concerning the protocols on the parliament.
“The government says the protocols will not be effective, if the parliament does not ratify them. Don’t you have the majority of the seats in the parliament,” he said.
Deniz Baykal said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev should speak about the current situation.
“Azerbaijan is a very important country in the Caucasus. But I see the European Union does not understand it either,” he said.
