President: Iran ready to defend itself if attacked

Iran has no intention of attacking any country, but in case of any attack the country is ready to defend itself till the end, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday, Iranian website Tasnimnews reported. The president made the remarks addressing to the soldiers of the 92nd armored divisions in the Ahwaz city of Iranian Khuzestan province. Rouhani said Iran will not allow anyone to occupy even one millimeter of its land.

The Iranian president in his speech stressed the peaceful goal of Iran’s nuclear technology.

“We have never sought to obtain weapons of mass destruction. Iran fulfills all its commitments to the international conventions on prohibition of weapons of mass destruction and we have the right to obtain the peaceful atom. We will not deviate from this law,” Rouhani said.

The president noted that Iran has never sought to acquire nuclear weapons and does not intend to do so in the future.
