“Last year 660 USD spent for one internally displaced person. This kind of number was not recorded in any conflict area of the world”, Vice Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Ali Hasanov stated at the meeting dedicated to World Refugee Day, Lent.az informs.
He stated that 4 years ago poverty percentage among internally displaced people was 75%, but now it’s 25%.
Besides, Ali Hasanov stressed that refugees remained to be the poorest strata of the country population. According to him, though Azerbaijan economics is growing from year to year we still need help of international donors to solve the problems of internally displaced people.
Nowadays, there are 112 organizations in Azerbaijan regarding to refugees and internally displaced people. 72 of them are humanitarian organizations.
