Turkey’s Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met with leader of Great Union Party Yalcin Topcu within the framework of the six-week internal political discussions concerning the protocols initialed with Armenia, APA reports quoting Turkish news agencies.
Following the meeting, Topcu briefed journalists before Azerbaijan’s flag. He said Ahmet Davutoglu informed them about the Armenian issue and they expressed the position of the party to the minister. Yalcin Topcu said Armenia should openly declare that it will release the occupied Karabakh lands and recognize Kars treaty. Topcu said they did not show the minister the photos describing Khojaly genocide considering it may be regarded as impolite. Then one of the members of the party brought the photo of the children atrociously killed in Khojaly and showed to the journalists. Yalcin Topcu said the crime committed in Khojaly should be reflected in the protocols and protested against the mediation of Switzerland, which recognizes the so-called genocide and punished those who denied it. He noted that Azerbaijan should be necessarily informed about the process. Yalcin Topcu expressed his hope that the parliamentarians will not confirm the protocols.
