Georgia celebrates Diplomat’s Day

Georgia celebrates the Diplomat’s Day on November 4. In this regard, the Georgian foreign ministry will hold a special reception in the reconstructed building of the Tbilisi City Assembly (Sakrebulo). The exposition entitled “The pages of European history of Georgia”, organized by the National Center of Manuscripts and the Georgian foreign ministry will open as part of the event. A gala concert will also be held.

Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze and the head of mission (nuncio) of the Holy See Marek Solczynski will address the audience with welcoming speech.
The representatives of the executive and legislative authorities of Georgia and the heads of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country are also invited for the event.
The historical documentary materials stored at the Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts and reflecting centuries-old relations between Georgia and Europe, in particular, political, military and cultural ties will be presented at the event.
November 4 is a professional day of Georgian diplomats. It has been celebrated since 2004. A prominent Georgian writer and public figure Sulkhan Saba Orbeliani (1658-1725) was born on this day.
